A little drama

Very low-light, cloudy conditions today and Mama didn’t lay a second egg. But, we did have a little drama.

If you are a bluebird, this guy is your worst nightmare. He’s a Sharp-shinned Hawk. He’s small, fast and makes his living killing birds.

Not the best photo because of poor light, but this guy is sitting on the mealworm feeder.  He’s been stalking my feeders for a few weeks. I understand he has to make a living, but can’t he do it somewhere else?

  1. Perhaps you might invest in a B-B gun?

  2. Hi Lindell, I have a similar problem but at least I do not have any bird houses in my yards. I have had a couple of coot and duck fatalities due to the hawks here. On a brighter note, I do not have the hawks here very often. Have a wonderful day!
