Just a quick update.  A second chick hatched overnight, leaving two unhatched eggs.  Temperatures are well over 100 today.  Just went out and wet down the box to cool it. Chicks looked a little hot, but healthy.

I expect the other two eggs to hatch soon or not at all.  This heat really makes things difficult for brooding birds.  I’ll report again tomorrow.

  1. Love the update, and for your love to help care for them by wetting down their box. Tugs my heart…. 🙂

Two chicks appear fine, still two eggs in the box. I’m giving them a day or two more and then removing them.
